Sparkly Playdough Recipe

*This may have accidentally posted in draft form--so sorry if you got a freaky unintentionally posted version!*

I first showed y'all my sparkly playdough here, and wanted to share the recipe with you.  I got this recipe from my very talented friend Ruth and just tweaked the amount of water to get the texture I liked:

Sparkly Playdough

1 C flour
½ C salt
2 tsp cream of tartar
2 Tbl cooking oil
3/4-1 C water
Food coloring
Crystal Glitter

Heat first five ingredients over low heat. Stir constantly until thick and rubbery.  You don't need to go to the gym the day you make this because it will work your arms big-time.  When it cools down a little, add food coloring a little at a time, stirring.  When it is totally cool, add as much glitter as you like.  The glitter is very hard to see in pictures but gives a really cool sparkly effect in person.  Seal into an airtight container or a ziplock bag.

This is the glitter I used:

It is a super-shiny clear glitter.

The containers I used were 10 for $1 at the Dollar Tree, and they are perfect for holding just the right amount of playdough.  One recipe will fill up about 8 of them, so you could split your finished playdough in eighths and make eight different colors!

Have fun kiddos!
